My trip 2000-2001
Lidkoping - Stockholm. 2000/09/09 During the past weeks who had run off I had have the feeling.. Why should I go travel again..But today it feels really good. The bus trip from Lidkoping up to Stockholm went really good. And now the feeling is comming back again.. I'am on the road and it is so nice.. We arrived to the centralstaion and we started to try to get some place to stay at.. It ended up that we gone stay with Fatimas friend Jonas.
Stocholm. This week was been pretty good we stayed with Fatimas friend Jonas at his place. And we have been cheking around the city. We have been to the Wasa museum, The Royal castle, and a few other places in the city.
Stocholm - Helsinki.00/10/13 The boat trip went on very nice and we meet three Finnish guys that we spent the time whit on the boat. Later on we also meet a nice girl from Australia and here name is Nita Chow. We spent the night sleeping in the room that they call the airseats room and it was pretty okey.
Finland and Estonia. Helsinki. We arrived in Helsinki at 10:30 and my finnich/swedich friend, Dan, that I met in Laos met us at the ferry terminal. We spent most of the time hanging around in the city of Helsinki this week, but we also made one trip up to the city of Tammpere/Tammerfors for one day, and there we went to the worst musem that you could see in the world, The old museum of Lenin. "Dans Id'e.. We also made a trip up to Meiras "Dans girlfriend" Mother and we had a wonderfull dinner there. After the dinner we went on to the city where Meira used to hangaround when she was 16 and very drunk every weekend. She wanted us to see the Finnich raaagers that use to hangaround and getting drunk in the city... Probebly a few of them are Merias old friends since the past..
On the 20 of september we went from Helsinki down to Estonia on a boat cruise to se the city of Tallin. The city was very nice and cheep, so it is defenitly worth wisiting.
After one night in Tallin we went back to Helsinki again and stayed there for another two days waiting for our visa to Russia.
To Dan & MEira. Thank you for the time we spent with you guys.
Russia.
Helsinki - St Petersburg.
On the 23 of september we crossed the border between Finland and Russia, and after 45min of waiting for the customs to be ready with all the papperwork we went on to St Petersburg.
We arrived to the trainstation and looked in our new Lonley Planet that we bought in Stockholm. And after a while of grubbeling we found out that it was just 500 meters to walk for the closest Guesthouse. The place was quit big and dodgie, and we got a room in a 6 bed dormitory. Luckely we where almost alone in the place so we had the room for our selfs. The first day we did'nt do anything speciall. Just walked around and went to some castle that I don't remember the name on. The second day, we started up, geting to know the subway of St pete. After some haggeling with the girl behind the ticket window we got some pollets "coins" that you are suppose to use in the gate down to the subway. And after checking the map and comparing the signs on the map and the signs on the walls in the subway hall, we went on the first train. And evrything went really good. okey okey perhaps not to 100% but we got to the place where we wanted to go anyway...After a while!!!..
First we went to one of the most famous musem in the world. The Hermitage in the Winter palace just next to the river ho runs through St Pete. I must say that this place is probebly the most beatifull place I've ever been to.. It had evrything from Picaso, Rembrandt, Van goog, and all the big artist in the world. The Hermitage contens more than 1200 rooms and 150 stairways, all of them is dekorated with roof paintings and goldstatus and kristallcrowns. I think that we manage to see something between 500-600 rooms.
The third day we spent on trying to get to the trainstation for Moscow. Finnaly when we got there and we found the ticket office and a lady who could speak English it was almost closing time. Anyway we manage to by the train ticket to Moscow.
St Petersburg - Moscow
After getting over the chock of the huge Mockba voksala. "Moscow trainstation" We went on the train no 630 to Moscow. And after 14 houres with one fat and one silent russian we arrived in Moscow. First we went to the St Petersburg hotel but that one was full, execapt the suit for 250USD a night. At this time in the morning 6:50 it started to rain and we had to walk for about 2km to find the Travellers Guesthouse of Moscow. Finnaly we arrived and it was pretty nice. The place was located on the 10 floor of a big office building so we hade some problem in the beginning to find it. The first thing we did when we arrived to the place was to ask them if they where abel to register our visa. The girl say, No -we can not register your visa if you'r not invated of us to visit Russia. You have to go to this company in St Petersburg she says and points on the visa paper.. So what happend after this? We spent the next 3 days in the huge and very fast subway system of Moscow "30 seconds between evry train" trying to find a place or a hotel who were able to do the regestraion thing for us. And finnaly we met this guy from Iran who could speak english, and he gave us a addres to a hotel a little bit outside Moscow.. We went there, asked them if they could to the registration thing for us, and it was no problem, we just had to stay one night in the hotel and we did.. After all this hassel whit the visa things it was quit nice to spent a night in this fine hotel. And the rest of the time in Moscow we spent on seeing all the major things as the Red square, The Kremlin, St Basils chathedral and a few other stuff as well.
And at this point the time had come to buy the ticket for the Transiberian train through Russia to Mongolia.
We went to the Vladivostok voksala "Vladivostok trainstaion" and tried to find some one in the ticket windows who could speak english. This was totally impossible and after a while of haggeling with the girl behind the window trying to buy a ticket, there was a man that just went up infront of me in the cue starting to talk to the lady infront of me. What happend was that I went a little bit pist off and said to the men:
Hey there is a cue here, can you see that.
And the man says: -Oh! I'm sorry. And I go off. -Oh! do you speak English? He says. - Yes I work as a diplomat in north Korea!.. Okej so after this I've got him to buy the tickets from Moscow to Irkutsk for us. When everything was done we thanked him and we went happy back to our place and went to sleep.. The next day it was time to leave Europe and had in to Asia on the Transiberian rail road...
The Transiberian rail road.
Moscow-Irkutsk.
After that we had over sleeped in the morning of the 29 of september and finally manange to arrive, late but in time for the train. We was on the route who was taking us out of Europe and in to Asia. The feeling was great, get away from the noice and the crowed that was in the city of Moscow and in to the enderless of Siberia. After 27 hours we crossed the Ural mountines and we where in Asia. The sceneary was great and the second night we spent thogether with four non speaking english russian guys, drinking vodka (of course). Two of them past out after a couple of hours and it was quit nice to take a rest. Next morning we waked up and the train made a small stop at the city of Omsk. It was just enough time to buy some breakfast from the Babuchkas "Old ladys" on the platform. Fresh bread and some bannans and a bottle of water. The next day went on with more scennary and at this time we started to lose everything in mening of time and date. The sun goes after the local time and the timetable goes after Moscow time. From Moscow to Irkutsk the train passes 5 diffrent timezones. So you feel a little bit stange when you sleep to one a clock in the after noon and dont want go to bed before two a clock in the night. We played cards and dies and we sleept over and over again. After a while it starts to get a little bit borring. Does this trip never end? But finnaly after four and a half days on the train the city of Irkutsk is coming up in our sights. That feeling was even better than the feeling we had when we went on the train in Moscow.
Irkutsk and Lake Bajkal.
At the 03 of october we went of the train on the train station in Irkutsk and we went for a taxi who could take us down town. After the taxi dropped us of at the closed hotel Arena we checked the Lonley Planet and we just had a 10min walk to the next place. The hotel Angara was nice and we decide to stay here for two days before we went on to the city of Listvajanka and lake Bajkal. The next morning we waked up and had breakfast in the hotel. And there we met two guys from Dalsland in Sweden. They where in Russia to install a new papper development factory, so we had a small chat with them about news from Sweden.
The trip to Listvajanka and lake Bajkal was a big FLOPP and my oppinien about the city is, IT SUCKS. So we went back to Irkuts as fast as possible.
After two days walking around in the city and cheking out the museums, the parks and the markets we decide to get on the train again. We bought our tickets first for the trip to the city of Ulanude and as well the tickets for the rout beetwen Ulanude and Ullan Baatar in Mongolia.
The trip to Ulanude was really nice and the track followed the shore of the cristal clear lake Bajkal. And at the evening of my birth day "05 of october" we arrived to Ulanude. We celibrated my birthday with a really nice 3 course dinner with beer at the hotel and the bill ended up on 280 rubbels. (10USD) Not bad at all..
Monglia.
Ulanude - Ullan Baatar.
At the 6 of october we went on the train to Mongolia and after about 5 hours we had reached the border. And now the most amasing things happens. The train splits up, and one carrige is left alone on the platform, the rest goes back to Russia.
This lonley waggon, our waggon, stayes there on the platform in the middle of no where for six bloddy hours, waiting for the guys from the custom of Russia comming and checking our passport. What happens is that during this time the Mongolien people loads the train full, including our compartment, with toilet papper, ciggerets and a lot of other things. And when the custom people comes a hasseling starts that I never ever seen before. And half of the things goes of the train again, probebly waiting for the next train to come. Then a train is comming to pick us up and pushes us 3km trougt fenses and other barriers on the border up to the mongolien customs. Here we have to wait for another two hours before we cold move on. The scennary is changing pretty fast here from the flattnes of Siberia to the hills of Mongolia and everything is starting to get more and more intresting again. At 6:50 the next morning we arrive in Ullan Baatar.
Ullan Baatar.
When we are walking of the train in UB there is a nice lady there meeting us and here name is Nassan.
She has a small guesthouse and travell agency in UB, and the name is: Mongolian tours by Nassan.
We decide to stay here and the rooms are 3 USD a night in a 4 bed dormitory.
We do have plans for the moment to do a tour of some kind and we are thinking of something that lasts for about 4-5 days.
During the next couple of days we met one guy from England "Tim" and one guy from France "Denis" who have lived in Sweden for a couple of years. We also run into this lady "Peg" from the states who have been in Mongolia for about 1.5 years and works there as a teacher. We all have one thing in comment. We wanne do a tour. After some discussion we decide that we will go to the Gobi dessert and we will be out for seven days. We talked to Nassan, the lady who runs the guesthoes and she knows a driver with a Russian 4WD van who could take us there. And after some talking to Nassan we got the driver and the van for 15 USD each per day. Now it is time for shopping. We all went togheter to the markets around the city, to buy food and gifts that we gave to the familes where we spent the nights.
And of we went from UB out in the enderless of Mongolia. To understand what it mens with the enderless of Mongolia you just have to be there.. It is soooooo flat that you could se how the earth turns in to a globe. The days we mostley spent driving in the car because of the huge distanses and the night we spent with the lokal nomads of Mongolia. The nomads in mongolia lives in GERS and that is a kind of a tent you could say. They appears in difrent sizes but all of them look the same and they also have a woodheather in the middle whitch they use for cooking and heating up the gers. Most of the familes where we sleept have seen foriners before, but definitley not two of the familes. All of them where so nice and every night and mornig we got free dinner and free breakfeast.
And after 3 days of driving we finnaly reached the Gobi dessert. It was so nice to see. The sand dunes where about 900 meters high and I can't describe the beuitey in this landscape. During the travelling we also met alot of nomads on the fields and they let us ride on there camels. And we had such a good time. But after 7 days in the middle of nowhere and after 7 days of rise and home made nuddles it was quit nice to come back to The city of UB.
Mongolia is the best country that I've been too.
China.
Ullan Baator - Beejing.
At the 19 of october we crossed the border between Mongolia and China. And here they do something that are quite unike in the world. They are changeing all the boggies on the train. They shopp the train up on five lines and then they lift evry waggon whit huge jacks and after that they change the wheels on the train. The tracks in Russia is ca 100mm wider then in the rest part of the world.
Beejing.
We arrived to the main train station in Beejing at 17:00 and after 45min we finnaly got a taxi that would drive us on the bloddy meter to the Jinghua hostel. The guest house was a big billding whit swimming pool and a nice beer garden in the back. The only problem was that it was located next to a very very smelly cloac river on the thrid ringroad ho goes around the city. We stayed in Beejing for 10 days waiting for my Swedich friend Erik Cederbom and his girlfriend Maaria. They where comming down whit some Swedich candy and some Snus for me. During this time we went to se The Forbbiden city that have been closed for visitors for over five hundred years but was re oppened in the mid sixties. We also went to Tiananmen square "Himilska fridens torg" The tempel of haven, The summer palace, Lama temple and of course a day trip to the great wall ho stretches 6000km trought Chinas country side. We also made some mayor shopping in the shopping areas, So now I carry loads of soviners and other crap stuff.. Gone find a post office soon..
00/10/31-00/11/02
X'ian.
After Beejing we went southwest to the city of X'ian to see the eight wonder of the world.
The Taracotta army. This place was pretty amasing and it contens more than 6000 taracotta "clay/lera" soldiers and horses in one to one size. The piezes is about 2000 years old and they are doing some major renovation there to restall the place as it once was like. It is in the top5 of the world hertige in the world. We also went to se some tempels in the area and some museums. The city X'ian is pretty amasing in itself and it has a big wall around the city ho where built of some dynesti for a couple of hundreds years ago to protect the city.
00/11/03-00/11/04
Yichang.
After 13 houres on the train from Xian we went of the train in Yichang. And after we had spent 2 houres looking around for a good place to stay we went up to se the great dam "The three Gorges dam" that they are building in the area. This dam gone be the biggest one in the world and it is about 280 meter high and 2.8km wide.
00/11/04-00/11/06
Upstream the Yangzi river and the Three Gorges.
The next morning at 08:00 we went on the boat who went from Yichang and up to Chongching. The boat trip was very nice and we past the Three Gorges on the way. This part of the Yangzi river is full of amazing views and the mountins drop from 800-900 meters straight down in to the river from the both sides. And we had a great time whit our Chines freinds in the cabin and of course whit our friend Els from Holland.
00/11/06-00/11/10
Chengdu.
After we went of the ferry in Chongching we took a buss from there and up to Chengdu "The city of Pandas". The city was nice but pretty dusty and I had to go to the hospital for my back. That I had have a pain in since we arrived to Beijing. The hospital was nice and the doktor was okey as well. I got some medicine for inflamation in my back. So we hope that it gonne be okey soon..
This was giving me a lot of time over to fix my homepage. But we also went up to the Panda reservoar to watch the Pandas and they where so quite. We saw about 15 difrent pandas in all from kids and up to the really big ones.
00/11/10-00/11/12
Chengdu-Pan Zhihua.
On the train from Chengdu to Pan Zhihua we met this very nice girl who comes from Pan Zhihua and her name is Mai Aiding "Laura". We had a great time on the train togheter and she invatied us to follow her home to her parents place and have some breakfast. After the breakfast we went whit her father, in his Jeep Cherokie up to the biggest dam in Asia 240 meters high and about 1.1 km wide. And in the evning we went to a couple of pubs togheter and then to a disco. This place was really nice and when we went up on the dance floor all the girls started to clapp there hands.. Pretty cool to be a blond in China I could say..
The next morning Mai Aiding met us at the hotel and we went togheter down to the busstation and she helpt us bying the ticket to Li Jiang.
And of course "Laura" Thank you very much and say hello to your parents. Have a good time and se you in Canada or Sweden.
The buss trip from Pan Zhihua up to Li Jiang was really nice. The road followed the Yinzi river all the way and it was so beautifull. But also very scary as usually in Asia on the buses. They have no fences on the road and it is not unusually that the clifs drop about 200 meter down from the road down to the river.
00/11/12-00/11/17
Li Jiang.
When we arrived to the busstation in Lijiang we tought it was another boring city in China. But after some discussion whit a old Naxi lady, "Naxi=The local hilltribe" we got to stay in here home. And after about 15 min of walking in the city we felt totally overweld. This is not China, It is something else. The old city of Lijiang is full of small rivers and canals everywhere and the small markets are also full of the old Naxi ladys in there folkdresses, selling everything from local handicrafts to food and vegies. We stayed whit the family for five days and it was very nice. They where living in a small house who are built in a squere and in the middle there is a very nice inneryard whit small threes and birds in small cases singing all the day. During the third day we went up to The Jade Dragon Snowie Mountines "Mt Yulong" togheter whit a couple from Australia. And we climed the peak who was 5596 meter over the sea level. Okej the first 5506 meter we got some help from a cable car, that dosent count. And the same night we spent watching a local band playing some folk music. But as always after five days you got the feeling that you need to move on so we decide to go to Dali. The jurnie to Dali from Li jiang went really good and it was only three houres on a very nice road. But the trip got a very fast stopp.. Almost in the middle of nowear the bus stopps and the driver points at us "Me and Fatima" and says -Dali, Dali.. We understand that this is the place where we are suppose to get of, But we wonder if it is the right place because all we can se is a couple of farmers working in the rice felds and some houses on a hill. The driver still says -Dali, Dali. and wave whit his hand to us that we should go of. Okej what are you doing. You go of the bus and standing on the road in the middle of nowear wondering what the hell are you doing here. But all problems have a sullotion, There was a men runing up to us in the road and says the same thing as the bus driver -Dali, Dali. And we says okej..The man comes up whit his horse and his waggon and he gives us a lift for 25min up to the city of Dali.. And he show us the way to the "no.4 Guesthouse in the city. Thank good for the horse and the waggons on the earth...
00/11/17-00/11/21
Dali.
The first nights in Dali was pretty nice and the room at the no.4 guesthouse was okej and very cheep only 10yuan=1.2USD. At the 20 of september we went to see the YI market and that was really good. It is a market who are lokated about 30km south of Dali and it is a market for the minority hilltribes who lives in the area. And they walk for days to come down to the market and sell or buy animals cloths and food. Very good indeed.. But on the way home the WORST thing who you could amagine happend.
It starts to Snow Yes it Snowed ant it snowed a lot about 15 centimeters and we got about 4 houres late before we arrived in Dali as well. This was the first time in 9 years that they had some snow in this area, and the people went mad ofcourse. Yung and old where playing in the snow and they had snowball fights during the next two days. It is pretty weared to see the banana threes and the coconut threes full of snow..
00/11/21-00/11/26
Kunming and the south of China.
After 9 houres on a buss from Dali to Kunming we arrived to the Camellia hotel in the east part of the city. The first day we just spent walking around the town doing nothing at all. But the second day we went to the big Stone forest. This is a 300 hectar big area whit big lime stones and the biggest one are up to 30 meters high. The park is amasing in it self and all the stones makes it to a big labyrinth where you could spent oures walking around and just se the blue sky over your had and nothing else. We went there togheter whit six chines guys and they where really nice, We had a good eight course dinner togheter whit them and after the stone forrest we spent some time whit them to se a tempel in the area.. "Pretty boring one but you cant say no when thay offer you something" When we arrived to Kunming again the same evning it was time for the normal photo presidure whit one photo of every chines and us and after 20 min it was time to say godbye. At this point we are starting to get pretty borred about China and we just wanne leave down south to the sun and the beach right now. Soo we decide to take a 30 houres train trip down to Gouillin where it suppose to be a little bit warmer. Sad and done. After 30 houres we arrived in the very dirty and very poulloted city of Gouillin and it was so ugley and so borring so we only spent one night here. And now we just arrived in Yangshuo. This seems to be alot better and so far we like it..Wonder how it gone be?
00/11/26-00/11/30
Yangshuo.
Okej I am sorry that I've been away for a wile but now I'm here again.. Soo how was Yangshuo? It was nice! This is also a small place like nothing else in China, The streets a covered whit small nice cafes and bars and a lot of small nice ladies trying to sell some soviners to you. The area in it self is also very beutiful whit huge limestone formations around every where and it just drops right in to the river. We stayed in this little nice village for four days and I really wanne recommend the 7th heaven Cafe & Hostel whit the owner William as he was really nice and helpfull when we needed his help. In this village it was also the first time in China where we saw dead and boild dogs chopped in to peases. Skuumie dinner!! Yes for shoure but not for me..
00/11/30-00/12/05
After Yangshuo we went on the bus down to Guangshou and from there stright ahead over the boarder and out of China and in to the western world of Hong Kong. Hong Kong is amasing whit all the markets and the skyscrapes, 9 out of the 15 highest buildings in the world belongs to the city line of Hong Kong. The only thing whit this city is that it is soo expensive and when you are used to leave for less then 2USD a day in China It's just not worth staying there for a long time. Soo we stayed in two days and then we went on the Jet foil ferry to Macau. When we arrived in Macau we got the felling that we been flying in to Europe and hadded for Portugal or Spain. The small streets and housses looks the same as there. "Macau used to be a coloni under Portugal." But as it is almost as expensive as Hong Kong we just stayed one night before we went back to Hong Kong again. At this time we decide that we had IT whit travelling on the roads in China and Asia, And last friday I went to the Doctor again because of my back. It still hirts like hell and the doctor sad that there is some movement in the disks. And I have to relax and not walking to much, I also got some medicine again that I should eat. Soo we decide to skip North East Asia and take a flight down to South East Asia instead. Sad and done. Yeasterday we bought a ticket to Bangkok and we arrivved this night at 00:05 in Bangkok.. Soo thats where we are right now.
And the wheater broadcast is..
Sun, 36 degress, No wind, Green water, Loads of girls.
00/12/05-00/12/22
Phi Phi Island, Thailand.
At the moment we just take it really easy at Kho Phi Phi in Thailand. The doktor in HK sad that I have to rest for a couple of weeks soo thats what we gone do here. The whether is perfect and its sun every day. The Island is pretty small and its not much to do during the days more then being on the beach. But during the evnings and the nights there is a very good night life. We are trying to take it easy and not spend to much money here but what sohuld you do when the beer is cheaper then water.
So far we have meet a lot of Swedes and they are every where in Thailand. At the moment we are hanning around whit two guys from Stockholm and one of them are un old "LAPP" from Kalix.. He He.
00/12/22-01/01/09
Myanmar "Former Burma"
Hugh! Yaa what do you say about Burma?
We arrived on the 22 at Yangon International Airport after a 1 hour on the flight from Bangkock and allready on the airport you get "the" feeling. Its small, emtey and pretty old. When you go to Myanmar you should know before you go there that this country is not like anything els in this world. The goverment controls every thing here. And it starts at the airport. Right after the imigrations and before the customs you have to change 200USD/pers CASH in to something that they call F.E.C. "Forigner Exchange Currency" This "money" is allways equal to the USD so 1FEC is equal 1USD. And they look like monopoly money. this currency is what the goverment says are the only money that forriner could use in Myanmar. I say bullshit!! and we braved the lady at the exchange office whit 5USD and got away whit 200FEC for the two of us.. After some disscussion whit a taxidriver we got him to drive us to a place called West End Guesthouse. We started the time in Yangoon getting to the black exchange market and what do we find out? Ya that the USD is 423 chet and the FEC is only 300 chet. The thing here is that according to the goverment the exchange rate is 7 chet to the dollar. Soo if you go to the bank you get 7 chet for the dollar and a bottle of water coast 50 chet on the street. So that water gets qiute expensive if you change your money at the bank. Soo after 2 days on Chrismas eve we left the very nice but very over poppulated capitall city of Yangoon to a small beach city called Changta, its located on the south of the west coast. Here we meet some Swiss people and some Germans that we spent some nice time whit and had some good barbecuse whit.
Travell around in Myanmar takes time loads of time and after a cople of days we had been travell up the coast to a even smaller place called Gwa. This is probebly the most quiet beach Ive ever been to It is miles and miles whit emtey white christall clear beaches and no one is there just some localls and some pigs that are swimming in the ocean. But as I sad it takes time to travell up here so after 12 houres on the roof on a truck we arrived in Nagpali. This place is pretty expensive because here it goes very expensive packeche tours from the states and other places in the world. So after a very short stopover here we went on to Bagan. Myanmar is the country of Pagodas "Buddhist temple" and it is aboute 5 million Pagodas in the country and only in the city of Bagan there is more then 5000 Pagodas. So what did we do there???? We hired a hourse a driver and his waggon and went for a nice cruise over one day and ended the day whit a buitiful sunset over the area. REALLY nice.. And this is about everything ofcourse alot more happend as always but it takes to long time to write.
Check out the photo site for some new photos from over there.

Hiy! My friends hope that evrything is alrigth whit you guys and you dont have any problem at the moment. I just want to say that Iam hadding for Cambodja and Vietnamn and I'm not shore how the Internet connections are in Cambodja so we will se when I uppdate this page the next time.. But you know it will be soon anyway..
Have a good time and take it easy.
Cheers Roger
01/01/25-01/02/08 Cambodja.
Okej they had a Internet connection here as well and it is pretty good. So what happend here during the last weeks. We started of from Bangkock whit the train to the border and amzing enought it was only 48 bath=1 USD fort a train trip who last for 7 houres. And after 2 houres on the border to get a visa and all the ques we where finnaly in Cambodja. Our next target was the city of Siam Rap where the famous temple of Angor is located. The road there was one of the wurst Ive ever seen and it tolked us about 6hours to travell the 70 km from the border to the city. But anyway wurth while going. Seens the war the goverment dont have that much money to fix all the roads who was destroyed during the civill war. So you just have to live whit it. After 3 days in Siam rap we had another 12 houres on the back of a pickup to get down to The capital, Phnom Penh. 01/02/08-01/02/19 Vietnamn and Malaysia.
Hiy again. It have been a while seens i updated this page but here I am again.
So what happend after Cambodja. We went on a very ruff roadtrip down to Ho Shi Ming city "Saigon" in Vietnamn and there we spent 4 days hanging around doing nothing at all. After that we went on a tour down to the Mekong delta and that whas very nice. okej it was a bit touristic but what should you do when it is people every where. We went to se some rise papper factories and coconut candy factories and then we where crusing up and down on the river a couple of times to see the area. The city of Saigon is quite nice but it is way to over crouded and the motorcycles really goes on your mind. From the beginning we where supposed to stay longer in Vietnamn but we decide to quit it and we went on a flight to Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia instead. So thats where I am right now. And in few days we gone leave down to Singapore. So keep in touch and see you soon..
My trip 1999-2000
Okej this gone be a short story about my trip that I did during 99-00.
I've started my trip on the 7 of october 1999 whit a nice and comfortable flight on Thai airways from Stockholm in Sweden down to Bangkok in Thailand. After spending only one day in Bangkok I went on a long bus ride all the way down to Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia where I meet my third men "Joakim". After two weeks in Malaysia we went down to Singapore and after 3 very expensive days there we haded back up to Malaysia again. After Malaysia it was time to explore Thailand for real. We started of from Malaysia and up to Surrathani where we went on a boat trip to the Island of Kho Pangan. We stayed here for about 1 week and went on the big full moon party that comes up every month during the full moon. There is a small beech on the Island called Haadrin beech and evry month there is about 5000-10000 Backpackers on the beech to be in the big party. And for shore it is a big and very good party. After Kho Pangan I went on to another Island, Kho Tao, Here I spent about 18 days to take my diving course, It was very nice to dive around on the reevs and I left the island whit 19 dives and a Advanced Open Water Licence in my pocket. After this I went back to Kho Pangan and stayed for another 2 weeks there. And at this time my friends from Sweden, Andereas, Daniel and Henrik was comming down to the Island of Phuket for some two weeks holiday. So of course I went there to wisit them and to pick up some Swedich tobaco and some Swedich candy. But after 3 days on Phuket we where all very tierd on that place, Soo all of us went on to the Phi Phi Island and then back to Kho Pangan again. And this time we went for another good fuul moon party. After this I was done whit Asia for the moment so I flyed up to Bangkok and stayed there for a couple of days and then I had my ticket to Australia. I arrived on Melbourne International airport and from there down to the St kilda area in Melbourne. There we meet my third meen Joakims friend that have been living at Joakims place in Sweden for a year as a student. So I stayed at his place for 2 days and at the same time I bougth a nice car. The car I bought was a Ford Falcon Station wagon. After this I went on the Hume Higway from Melbourne to Sydney and at the same time I arrived in Sydney my girl friend Fatima was landing on the airport there. I picked her up and then we started to travel around Australia for 3 months. And indeed the car was good. We spent almost 24 hours a day in the car. Mostley we went the east coast up and down again to check out all the great surf beeches in Australia. The best place was defenly Colondra on the Sunshine coast north of Brisbane. And in the middle of Januari we where back down in Melbourne and we stayed for a couple of weeks at my Swedich friend, Pers plays. Helping him building his new kitchen. And on the 1 of Februari we had our flight to Auckland in New Zeeland. We spent ruffley one weeks in Auckland and after that we went on to the city of Rotorura where we meet my sister Asa and here boy friend Fredrik. But after only 3 days we where spliting up whit them again. "because me and my sister just love eatchother to much" And After one month of road travelling, white water rafting, bungee jumping, kajak paddeling, and vulcano watching we hadded back to OZ and our wonderfull Ford Falcon again. This time we started to travel west out of the Melbourne area to see the Great ocean road and it was very nice indeed. And on the 1 of april Fatima had here flight back home to Sweden again so we sad good bye and I stayed onther two weeks in Australia before I was flying up to Asia again. When I arrived back to Bangkok I had two days to get down to the air port on Phuket Island to meet my friend Erik from Sweden. After I meet him we was travelling around the islands in Thailand for another two weeks and we went on one more good Fuul Moon Party togheter. After I left Erik in Bangkok I haded up to the north of Thailand and over to Laos. Laos was really nice as well, probebly the best country on my trip. I spent one month here travelling around in the small villages and in the highlands of the north and the thousend islands of Mekong in the south. After Laos it was time to go back to the civilisation again and I haded down to Bangkok. At this time I started to plan my trip back to Sweden. So after 2 weeks in Bangkok I flyed up to Bangladech and Dhaka. After a couple of days in Bangladech it was time for Nepal, The top of the world. I Arrived in Khatmandu and found out that my backpack was missing on the flight. I went pist off and walked down to the office off Biman airlines and sad to them, Okej if you give me 100 USD cash I will forget this thing...... And after 45min off hasseling whit them I've got my money. And as evrything is very cheep in Nepal "Accemodation is 2USD" I've stayed my two weeks almost for free there. After Nepal I was Flying back to Bangladech and then to Dubai in United Arab Immerat and from there to Frankfurt in Germany. Finnaly when I arrived in Frankfurt I went on to se a friend that I meet the first time in Malaysia and then when I was diving in Thailand. I stayed at his place for 3 days and then I went on the train to Sweden and I arrived back home just before the best party of the year in Sweden. The Midsummer party.... Soo that is, in big stepps what I did during the time I was travveling.... I also wan't to give my big Thanks to all the people that I met and made this trip so good.
